The Role of the Spraying Device in an Organic Fertilizer Disc Granulator

The spraying device is a core component of the organic fertilizer disc granulator. It relies on a water pump and nozzles to evenly spray water, causing the powder to agglomerate into granules, directly determining the granulation rate and finished product appearance. The dry powder of the decomposed organic fertilizer raw material itself lacks viscosity. After appropriate water spraying, a water film forms on the surface of the fine powder, causing it to adhere to each other during rolling, gradually growing from small powder into standard round granules. Without spraying, normal granulation is difficult, resulting in mostly loose powder.

During production, controlling the water flow is crucial for adjusting granule size. Insufficient water leads to loose powder, poor forming, and excessive return material; excessive water causes sticking to the disc, clumping, and large mud clumps. The spraying device can fine-tune the water output through valves and a variable frequency water pump, allowing for smaller granules with smaller water and larger granules with larger water, flexibly matching the customer’s needs for different finished product specifications. During production on the bio-organic fertilizer production line, liquid microbial inoculants and amino acid fertilizer solution can be added to the spray water, allowing them to evenly coat the granules. This eliminates the need for a secondary inoculant mixing process, preserves microbial activity, and improves fertilizer quality.

The spray nozzles are atomizing models, producing a fine and uniform spray that avoids large localized water droplets. This prevents material from clumping and sticking to the disc walls, reducing scraper load and minimizing the frequency of shutdowns for cleaning. The entire spray system is equipped with a water tank and filter to filter impurities, preventing nozzle clogging and water interruptions, ensuring continuous and stable production.

Daily maintenance focuses on cleaning nozzle blockages and checking for leaks in the pipes. With proper spray system debugging, the granulation rate can be consistently above 85%, dust is significantly reduced, raw material loss is decreased, and the overall production efficiency of the granulation section is significantly improved.
